BREAKING: Nigeria fail to qualify for 2022 World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after drawing Ghana 1-1 on Tuesday. Ghana qualified on an away goal advantage. Nigeria hosted arch-rivals Ghana in the second-leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The Black Stars were held to a goalless draw in Friday’s match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Kumasi which left the return encounter delicately poised. Kwara TUC Chairman Killed In Kaduna Train Attack

Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Kwara State, Comrade Akinsola Akinwunmi, has been reported as one of the persons killed by bandits who attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday. Speaking with Tribune Online in Ilorin on Tuesday, the immediate past chairman of the TUC, Comrade Kola Olumoh, who confirmed the demise of his colleague, said that he and the deceased were supposed to be part of the TUC executive meeting in Ilorin on Tuesday. The late TUC chairman was a staff of Dangote industry in Ilorin until the company was recently bought over and he was inaugurated as the TUC chairman about two years ago. “The death was so shocking. Ondo varsity VC: Education must be skill-driven if FG means well for youths

Temi Ologunorisa, the vice-chancellor (VC) of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology ( OAUSTECH ), Okitipupa, Ondo state, is advocating a skill-driven educational system in Nigeria. According to NAN, the professor spoke on Tuesday during a visit by Akoko youths to the institution’s campus. Ologunorisa said a skill-driven system was the best way of developing the educational sector in the country. The vice-chancellor also said the government and other stakeholders in the educational sector must synergise for the sector to attain the 21st-century skill-driven system. Portable sacks manager, promoter, DJ

Self-styled ‘wahala’ musician, Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has sacked some of his aides. The “Zazu” crooner, in a video, informed he has relieved his manager, promoter and disc jockey of their jobs. According to Portable, he wants to give opportunities to the new set of persons to come on board and enjoy all that the previous sacked aides did. He further warned show organisers not to pay or enter into any agreement with his promoter as he has been sacked. Portable said: “Let some other persons enjoy. Let me employ new staff; new DJ, new promoter. Let them enjoy like you have enjoyed. Don’t give them my show money oh. Including the manager. Canada cruise to FIFA World Cup first time in 36 years

Canada qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 36 years on Sunday with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Jamaica in Toronto. Goals from Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, Junior Hoilett and an Adrian Mariappa own goal secured all three points. Canada dominated throughout against a Jamaica side already eliminated from contention in the CONCACAF region’s qualifying tournament for this year’s finals in Qatar.
