Insecurity: Join FG fight bandits, expose them in your midst – Lai Mohammed begs Nigerians

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, has urged Nigerians to help the government in the fight against bandits and insurgents by exposing the terrorists living in their neighborhoods.

Mohammed disclosed this during a Bond FM Radio programme in Lagos on Saturday monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He noted that the investment by the federal government in tackling insecurity would be more successful if the citizens on their part would not harbor the criminals living in their neighborhoods.

Mohammed said, “We are also pleading with Nigerians to join in this fight because they have a lot of roles to play in tackling this insecurity.

"This is because these criminals called bandits are living among us; they interact with the people as well. Who are the ones supplying them food more, so they also have landlords?

“People should expose these criminals and then, the various efforts of the government will be effectively complemented and we will see the results.”

EPL: Mikel Arteta gives reason for Arsenal’s defeat to Southampton

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has given reason for his side’s Premier League 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday. Southampton defeated Arsenal at St. Mary’s Stadium, thanks to Jan Bednarek’s first-half goal. The result against Southampton means Arsenal are now in the sixth position on the Premier League table with 54 points from 31 games. Speaking during his post-match press conference, Arteta said the Gunners lost against Southampton because his players failed to score against the host, adding that the opponent’s goalkeeper was also exceptional. "[It is] Difficult to explain [Why we lost against Southampton] because this is football, not basketball." "It’s decided in the boxes and for the amount of time we spent around their box we didn’t put them on the goal.” “They had an exceptional goalkeeper,” he added.
