Davido features on 2022 FIFA World Cup Soundtrack

Even though Nigeria did not qualify, Davido will perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw.

Nigerian American singer, songwriter, and record producer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is featured on the soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 29-year-old, will feature on the soundtrack despite the Super Eagles of Nigeria failure to qualify for the tournament is Qatar.

Davido is on the track with American R&B singer and social media personality Trinidad Cardona.

Another artist featured on the track is American J-R&B singer Aisha. The name of the track is titled Hayya Hayya (better together) which is set to debut on Friday, April 1, 2022.

The track is produced by RedOne, and at the draw ceremony the song will be performed live for the first time live-streamed globally today.

It is a huge achievement for Davido among his afro beats peers as he continues to represent the country on the global stage.

Meanwhile, the final draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place in Doha on Friday.

The 32-team football event will kick off in Qatar on November 21, with the final taking place on December 18.

Twenty-nine participants, including the hosts, have already been confirmed, while the remaining three will be finalised by June this year.

Six soldiers die, 20 injured in Mali terror attacks

Six soldiers were killed and 20 injured in simultaneous attacks targeting three army bases in central Mali Sunday, the army said. Targets in Sevare, Niono, and Bapho were all hit by “armed terrorist groups (who) used suicide vehicles packed with explosives”, the Malian army said in a statement. A group linked to the firebrand preacher Amadou Koufa claimed the attacks, according to audio sent to AFP Sunday from a source close to the suspected attackers. The group, Katiba of Macina, belongs to the Group to Support Islam and Muslims (GSIM), an Al-Qaeda-linked alliance and the biggest jihadist network in the Sahel. “On Sunday morning, the mujahideen of the Katiba of Macina struck three camps of the (Malian armed forces),” a member of the group told AFP in an audio message.
